Enjoy!
It's not hard to make, like all cooking --- it's a matter of practice and a little trial %26amp; error!

Basic indian food contains, rotis, rice, vegetables, pickles, salad in yogurt or curds, cleared butter, sweet dish made mostly from milk, lentils, sprouted moong, leafy vegetables, chutney, and some side dishes like pakoras, or dhokla, which are steamed.
i would give you a simple recipe of dal-chawal first, if you want to cook your own food.
steam cook rice, small grained one, in a cooker.
cook one bowl of dal, either tur or moong.
chop onions, green chillies, tomatoes, coriander, garlic .
add turmeric powder to the cooked dal, and some salt.
in a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil, and crackle cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and a pinch of hing, curry leaves.
then fry onions, then tomatoes, put the cooked dal and stir.
remove from fire after 5 minutes.
garnish with coriander.
serve steaming hot rice, with dal, and enjoy with roasted papadams, pickle, and freshly set curds or yogurt.
if you can make rotis and a vegetable, you will have a square indian meal !
Indian food is the hardest food to make for me, and I'm a pretty good cook... A curry has to be just the right combination of spices and I am at sea what all those spices even are made up of... It's an art. Pakistanis also eat Indian food... One of my friends was a Pakistani and he could whip up a chicken curry in no time... Ask one of them...
